Dr. Hsieh is very passionate about the quality of care he provides to our patients. Every patient is treated as an individual and we will take as much time as it takes to help answer all of your questions. Our practice philosophies are very simple if it's not broken don't fix it. At the end of the day you can be confident that the recommended treatment will always be conservative.
Dr. Hsieh was a fulltime Associate Professor in the Orthodontic Department at Oregon Health & Science University for six years. His background in academics helps us bring you the most up to date evidence based dentistry and care. Dr. Hsieh is not only an Orthodontist but he also completed additional schooling on to be a Periodontist.
Here at Hi 5 Orthodontics we will coordinate with other specialist and general dentist to achieve better comprehensive and continuity of care.
Outside of work Dr. Hsieh enjoys spending time with his family, the amazing food scene here in Oregon and giving back to the community.
Education and Background:
Dr. Hsieh received his D.D.S. (1994) from National Yang-Ming University in Taipei, Taiwan and Certificates in Orthodontics and Periodontics and M.S.D. (2003) from Indiana University. He served as a full-time assistant professor in the OHSU Department of Orthodontics for 6 years. He has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology since Nov. 17, 2005. He has a periodontic specialty license and an orthodontic specialty license in Oregon and a dental license in Washington.
Teaching & Professional Affiliations:
Dr. Hsieh supervised the pre-doctoral orthodontic clinic and taught pre-doctoral orthodontic courses at OHSU for 6 years. He also covered the post-doctoral clinic and was in charge of literature review of the post-doctoral program when he worked at OHSU from 2003 to 2009. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Academy of Periodontology, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists.
